Second Annual Alumni Weekend Planned!

The Foundation intends to help host the Second Annual Alumni Weekend in 2009.  The Booster Club plans to hold the Fifth Annual Alumni Golf Event on Thursday, July 2nd, at the Clarinda Country Club.  Registration will begin at noon and participants will tee off beginning at 1:00 p.m.  A four-person team entry is $200, plus cart.

To reserve your spots call the
Clarinda Country Club at (712) 542-5417

Entrants will be treated not only to a fun filled day of golf, sun and fun, but will also get an amazing steak supper cooked by the cattlemen, along with the caterings of Donna Marriott.

Door prizes and hole prizes will be awarded.  Hole sponsorship can be had for $250, for a full hole, or $125, for a half hole.

For more information on sponsorships or the event, please contact Joy Sunderman at (712) 582-3227

The Foundation also plans to host Party in the Park 2009 beginning at 5:00 PM on July 3rd in the College Springs Park.  The event is open to the public and admission is $5 for Foundation members or children under 12 and $10 for all others.  Children 3 and under get in free.

Admission includes the entertainment, all you can eat BBQ pork provided by the Meat Cleaver of Clarinda and all the fixin's.  Food will be served from 5:00 - 6:30.  Live music will be performed from approximately 5:00 - 6:30 and then starting again at 8:00 (with a lull in the middle for those who wish to attend the softball/baseball games that evening).  The College Springs Fire Department will again help host the event.  Guests can feel free to bring their own beer or wine to the event, but please no hard alcohol.

Contact Jeremy Moffit with any questions.

Spring 2009 Newsletter Distributed to Alumni

In November 2006, we began distributing the Foundation's semi-annual newsletter, South Page Times, to alumni and friends of South Page and its predecessor schools.  We hope that the newsletter will be of interest to all who have a stake in the success of South Page and will serve to improve the communication conduit between South Page and its patrons.

Alumni Database

Communication by and between alumni and friends of South Page and its predecessor schools is essential to our mission.  Therefore, if you are interested in sharing your contact information with other alumni and friends of South Page in the form of a viewable alumni database, please send your e-mail address and/or mail address to spfound@southpageschools.com along with your name, the year you graduated (if applicable), and any additional information you may wish to share.

In the near future, we hope to offer to all members and alumni a viewable alumni database organized by class year.  The hope is that this database will help old friends reconnect and simplify the organization process for reunions and other class events.

Become a Foundation Member

To become a member, simply fill out the donation sheet on the last page of the newsletter and return it to the Foundation at the address above. Your contribution will go directly toward improving and expanding the educational opportunities and resources at South Page and improving the communication link between its alumni and friends. In return, we expect to send additional newsletters on a semi-annual basis. Better still, your contribution, no matter how big or small, may be tax deductible, as the Foundation is a legally recognized charitable entity. While large contributions are certainly appreciated, small donations and the power of participation alone will go a long way toward providing the level of support that we hope to achieve. For instance, if only 1,000 alumni and friends gave $1 a day for 1,000 days, it would raise $1,000,000 for South Page. For less than the price of a cup of coffee or a soda each day, South Page could have an endowment that could last a lifetime. With 1,500 alumni and thousands of friends and community members, it is not an impossible dream.
